In celebration of Black History Month, we wanted to acknowledge the legacies of Black entrepreneurs in American history and their contributions to the entrepreneurship ecosystem. Our Black Entrepreneurs in History social media series featured the lives and work of extraordinary entrepreneurs like: Madam C.J. Walker, Booker Taliaferro Washington, Earl G. Graves Sr., and Elizabeth Hobbs Keckly. If you want to learn more about them we invite you to check our Instagram highlights!

We also launched our new series, #GetEnvolvedChats, on Instagram Live. We commemorated Black History month with three Black business owners who talked about about the Black experience in the startup space and their journeys to business ownership and even provided some advice for future entrepreneurs.

We had the pleasure of speaking with Lee Gaddies, Envolve Award Winner and Founder of Gaddis Gaming, about the importance of promoting Black History and the different ways to continue to support entrepreneurs of color and underrepresented founders in the ecosystem. We chatted with Michele Heyward, Founder of PositiveHire, about the necessity to support women of color in leadership positions in the STEM field and the relevance of building new networks as BIPOC women. We also chatted with Tinia Pina, Envolve Award Winner and Founder of Re-Nuble.

Next month, #GetEnvolvedChats will commemorate International Women’s Month. If you identify as a female entrepreneur and would like to #GetEnvolved by participating in our series next month, please email our team!
